To inspire a generation of confident, curious and connected children through immersive nature-based learning that nurtures wellbeing, independence, and a deep sense of kaitiakitanga (guardianship) for the land, the people, and the community.
At Grow Wild Education, we believe that when children are given the freedom to connect with nature in their own way and at their own pace, they develop a strong sense of place and belonging. Through hands-on discovery, unstructured play, and open-ended exploration, we nurture their natural curiosity, build resilience, and foster the foundations for a lifelong, meaningful relationship with the natural world.
Our Mission
At Grow Wild Education, our goal is to provide children with meaningful, hands-on learning experiences in the outdoors that reflect real-world challenges and opportunities.
By engaging with nature in practical ways - such as building shelters, exploring natural environments, working collaboratively on group tasks, or caring for their surroundings - children learn skills that extend far beyond the classroom. These experiences help nurture personal growth by fostering independence, confidence, and resilience. They also promote social development as children learn to communicate, cooperate, and lead within a group setting. In working together and contributing to shared goals, children develop a strong sense of community and belonging. Through this approach, we support the development of well-rounded, capable children who are confident in themselves and connected to others and the world around them.
